Flights
We had to fly from Barcelona to Miami for the cruise, and then back again afterwards. Flying TWA, this involved stopping in Lisbon and changing planes in New York; it was a tiring journey with nothing much pleasant about it — and I detest in-flight movies even if I don't have to listen to the sound. From our home near Barcelona to the hotel in Miami, the total one-way travel time was over nineteen hours.
TWA has a terminal to itself at New York's John F Kennedy airport, but the terminal is dingy, remarkably old-fashioned, and very dull, with few facilities.
If we do another cruise in future, I suspect we'd try for a Mediterranean cruise in summer, if only because the journey to and from the ship would be much shorter. Some cruises actually start from Barcelona.
